How They Met...
Through volleyball of course! They both were members of a singles event group and while Alynda had been to a few events it was Rick's first time. Well needless to say Rick's mad skills at volleyball caught Alynda's attention right away, or maybe it was his attitude that even if he was constantly on the losing team he was still having fun, and encouraging others. Alas since both are relatively laid back nothing came of the taunting and teasing done on the court. The next meeting was at a games night, because you know these two love their games, and this is where Alynda made her move. As the night got later Alynda walked up to Rick and asked if he had ever been Geocaching? Of course Rick quickly answered of course, and so Alynda hastily planned a Geocaching get together the next weekend. Needless to say over the next month the two coyly asked which events the other would attend and made a point of signing up for them.
The first date came on March 18, 2006 where the two went Canoeing in the Arboreteum by UW campus. Alynda brought Kieshya along so she could see how this macho man interacted with a wiggly, exciteable pup. She was immediately won over by his eagerness to play with Kieshya, "There's something about a 6ft+ guy playing around with a dog like a kid that is just too cute!"
They went back and dropped off the canoe and the pup, then went out to dinner, then met with some of Alynda's friends, then watched some movies... and 11 hours later it was time for Rick to go stay at his Cousin's for the night. Both were terribly excited and could hardly sleep.
